Previously, I wrote about how all of the top performers preach about the importance of consistency.
Another trait that is shared by the so called ‘top performers’ is self belief.
They believe that they will succeed in realising their goals no matter what.
They silence all of the people who doubt them, silence all of the noise and perceiver through any adversity that they may face.
That is why they win.
Why having a Plan B is preparing to fail
Let us take a moment to think about what happens when you construct a ‘Plan B’.
You are forced to think about all the reasons that Plan A could fail and then you consider what you would do if this happens.
In this process, you are filling your mind with seeds of doubt that, over time, could grow and sabotage you.
Additionally, having an option to fall back on can provide us with a sense of comfort. You may end up falling back on to it, not because you have no other choice but because it is the easy option.
Winners don’t care
Winners do not consider failure as an option. They do not have a Plan B because they have unwavering belief that Plan A will work.
They do not let seeds of doubt creep into their mind in the first place.
This belief gives them the power and strength to persevere through the storms where their competition with a Plan B will give up.
At times, this belief can come across as somewhat delusional optimism or cockiness.
I am speaking from experience here from when people ask me on why I am not going back to Uni. The only answer I have for them is that I will figure it out and I know that I will succeed in the end.
This is all down to the fact that my Plan A is going to work and I haven’t given myself the luxury of having a Plan B.
