This is the final post in this 5 part mini series on the compound effect, vision how to use it to reach your goals! Today, I am going to tie the previous 4 posts together and show you, in short, how to make an effective plan in order to reach your actualised self.
Before you read todays post, you should check out the previous posts in this mini series!
Understand it
If you completed the activity from yesterday, find that A4 piece of paper and re-read the vision that you wrote down on it.
If you are happy with that you wrote down, roll with it. If you think you held back or if there was anything you want to change, now is the time to do so.
Once you are really happy with the vision of your fully actualised life, I want you to get another piece of A4 paper (the back of the other one will do).
Reverse engineer it
Look at the bullet points that you wrote and ask yourself this question:
”What could I do today that would get me closer to realising this?”
You may find some easier to figure out than others, but I guarantee you that there is an answer to all of them. If there wasn’t a starting point, it wouldn’t be possible and if you can imagine yourself in that position, it is possible!
So, don’t lie to yourself, it’ll do you no good :)
Examples:
Fitness Related Goals - what training would you have to do? How often would you have to do it? What would you have to eat?
Career Related Goals - what skills do I need? What experience or qualifications would I need? Is there anyone I know who could mentor me and get me there quicker?
Life Goals - what income would I need to live there? How could I achieve that state of mind? W
Social Goals - where would I find a partner like that? Where would I find friends like that? How could I create great relationships with my family?
That is just a hand full of topics and questions you could ask yourself when trying to reverse engineer your vision.
Apply it and stay consistent
Work through all of the bullet points and think of just one, small step you could take that would get you closer. Now, the hard part is actually implementing it.
That is fine.
If it was easy, we would all have everything we want but the enjoyment comes in the journey!
Once you start to take action on one of your bullet points, I am 99.9% sure that you will feel better after doing so. You will feel so good that you’ll end up tackling another, then another and then another until you are slowly making your way down the list.
Supercharge the wins
Remember the first part when I wrote about the power of writing down your wins everyday?
If your daily wins all move you closer to the vision that you created, you are going to find yourself moving so quickly in the right direction!
Day by day, you will start to live a happier, more fulfilled life and you will develop this hunger for growth!
You will start to see your potential, you will start to see yourself becoming better and better and soon, you will become unrecognisable for all of the right reasons!
If you stay consistent, if you keep stacking those daily wins and those private victories, soon they are going to start compounding together to make big wins!
P.S - Don’t forget to enjoy the journey! Celebrate every small win and be proud of yourself. You’ve got this.
