Hello Old Friend, Catch Up?
It's been a while since I last wrote on this newsletter and I think you deserve to know the reasons why.
I wrote and broadcasted my thoughts out to everyone on here every Monday from September 11th 2023 till July 10th 2024 and stopped all of a sudden.
You probably didn't notice, which is expected.
But nonetheless, I'm going to get you up to speed and let you know the plans for the future of this newsletter right now.
#1: I Lost Interest
It got to the point where I was just reading other peoples newsletters and copying ideas to write about, rather than using my own brain to break down cool things I had learned and synthesise them.
#2: Business Got Busy (Very Busy)
I think most of you guys on here think that the podcast is my full time thing that pays me a living.
You couldn't be further from the truth.
The 'Progress With Us' podcast operates at a loss of around £600 - £800 per month from hiring studios and paying video editors to chop up clips of us speaking for social media.
We do the podcast because we want to meet as many people in as many different industries as we can, so one day we can turn Progressus Network into a hub of knowledge that will serve as a trustworthy place for people to go to learn skills to go self employed.
That's the short story anyway.
So, now that's established...
I'm actually a freelance copywriter, which means that I write for businesses.
I write their emails, the text on their websites, the video scripts they use and also any live events or webinars they host.
I stopped writing the newsletter because I had a massive influx in clients and it took the back burner.
#3: I Wasn't Being Authentic & Genuine
I felt weird writing about things that I felt like I wasn't doing in my own life.
So, I took some time away to learn a bunch of lessons and change my reality so when I came back to this, I had interesting things to offer to those who read it.
Now You're Up To Speed
Let's talk about the future.
I want to use the newsletter as an effective way to communicate my ideas because to be completely honest, I hate making short form content.
I'm much better at communicating when I write (hence why I'm a copywriter).
I'm going to be talking a lot more about what I've learned from being a marketer, as well as just general podcast and life shit.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RECEIVE MARKETING EMAILS, REPLY TO THIS EMAIL AND SAY 'NO MARKETING'.
The automation will trigger and remove you from marketing emails, so it'll just be me.
See you soon friend,
Charlie
