I did a video for my Project Kaizen on this the other day but I believe it is a newsletter-worthy topic so here we are.
I have spoken a lot (perhaps too much) about the positive experiences I have had working with different mentors.
I have a mindset mentor, who came on the show, a business mentor and a copywriting mentor who I all invested in.
There is an abundance of benefits to doing this but the one that has stuck out the most for me is the accountability side of it.
The knowledge and the expertise that they give me are of incredible benefit but there is no shortage of this out there online which you can access for absolutely free.
But the only thing that matters when it comes to getting results is implementing what you have learned.
As mentors, they ensure that I am actually taking action and using the knowledge they give me in my life and in my business.
Because I know they are going to check up on me, I almost always deliver on the promises I make to them.
Part of the reason for this is the investment.
There is no point paying for their service and not doing anything with it or else I'm not using it effectively.
"If you don't pay, you don't pay attention"
But the main reason that I always make sure I deliver on my promises is the fear of disappointment, for lack of a better phrase.
I can't think of anything worse than getting on a call with them and getting called out for not doing what I said I was going to do.
I know they are going to ask and I don't want to sit on the call like a lost lamb and disappoint both them and myself.
So, I make sure I get it done.
For me, this accountability has made all the difference in the recent results I have been getting with copywriting and with the podcast too.
"Winners and losers have the same goals. Every Olympian wants to win a gold medal. Every candidate wants to get the job and if successful and unsuccessful people share the same goals, then the goal cannot be what differentiates the winners from the losers." - James Clear
Having a goal is a great start, but actually having the systems in place to get there is a different game entirely.
I have found great success in being held accountable for the systems I have in place.
If you are the kind of person who has goals but struggles to stick to the systems that would get you there...
Perhaps outsourcing accountability to someone would help.
Just food for thought.
Progress With Us Podcast
If you saw my Instagram story last night, you will have seen that we don't have any audio for Episode 12.
We have contacted our studio to see if they still have the audio on their system but if they don't, unfortunately, there won't be an episode this week.
However, we do have a special episode going out this Sunday which is just me and Jacob with no guests!
Very exciting times.
We would never have had the confidence to do an episode with no guest when we first started and I think it's an episode that you guys will enjoy a lot!
Stay tuned.
And since we haven't uploaded this week. it's a great chance for you to go and watch some of the previous episodes we have done!
You can find them all on our YouTube & Spotify.
Lessons From This Week
Lifestyle Inflation
I have had a large influx of income in the past two weeks from scaling my copywriting operations and immediately, I look for ways to spend it. I need to implement financial systems to make sure I don't piss it all away lol.
Consistency Compounds
I got my first stripe in Ju Jitsu this week and although it is a very insignificant achievement in the grand scheme of things, the reward makes all of the sessions so far feel worth it. It all adds up.
Environment For Working
I have worked in my room every day for about a year now and I was finding it harder and harder to focus. So I have now become a coffee shop laptop user, which I am not ashamed of.
Catch me in Coffika 8 - 11 every day doing my morning deep work ;)
Thanks for reading guys,

P.S. Less than a month left of Project Kaizen and then I will leave your Instagram feeds alone for a while :)
