Define who you really are
Do you know yourself as well as you think you do?
We all have that one topic that we could talk all day about.
The topic we know everything about.
If that topic came up in a pub quiz, you know that you would get every question right.
This topic could be absoultely anything. It could be a football team, a film, a TV series, an educational subject or what you do for work.
Every single one of us has our topic. Your friends will probably say “Don’t get [your name] started on that. You’ll be there for days!”
But…
How well do you know yourself? If at all!
Let me ask you this. How many of you could confidently talk about yourself and who you are?
Could you define your goals?
Could you define your personal values?
Could you define your beliefs and why you have them?
Are they actually your own beliefs or have you just subscribed to somebody else’s?
We live in our own minds and bodies 24/7 for the entire duration of our existence. Yet, most of us coast through life worrying so much about external rubbish, we forget to evaluate our internal.
You might know more about Harry Potter or some Netflix show than you know about your damn self!
Discover what it means to be you
Zoom out, take a step back and ask yourself:
What do you really stand for? What are your aspirations and dreams? Who do you want to become?
The only way to live a purposeful life is to be true to yourself and the only way to be true to yourself is to discover who you actually are!
Those who take the time to establish their values, purpose and direction are the ones who live the most fulfilled lives.
Create an aura of authenticity
Being true to yourself will create an aura of authenticity that everyone else around you will sense and admire.
You will be able to articulate yourself clearly and properly.
You will develop the skill of speaking with conviction because you are so clear on your views and what you stand for.
People will start to listen to you and they will start to pay attention to what you say.
All of this starts by defining who you are.
Remember, you can’t be anyone else so you better make sure that you have a clear understanding of who you are!
