You might think me odd for this, but sometimes when I can't sleep, I'll just sit in my living room and go on YouTube and just watch sales presentations for like an hour and a half until I end up getting tired. I should probably be reading, or just making sure that I go to bed on time, but I choose to spend my time doing this instead. In my time, watching hundreds of hours of sales presentations as well as writing them for our own clients, I realised that one of the core themes among the best sales presentations that I watched (ones that actually kept me engaged and ones that, even though I was studying them for the content, made me think, "Gosh, shall I actually buy this offer?") was one thing: their ability to tell a story. Not tell a story in the way that these nerdy kids online tell you that you need to become like a good storyteller, because I actually think they're wrong. You need to become a good story seller. You need to be able to present stories in a way that resonates with your audience's pains, their desires, the situations they go through on a day-to-day basis. You also need to be able to pick stories that create the kind of aha moment that you're actually looking for in your audiences. I was thinking about this yesterday, so I just sat down and turned the camera on and recorded a video on it. You can watch that video below. Happy Monday. CM |
Plus, I Would Rather Hold A Wall Sit For 3 Hours Than Write On Twitter Or LinkedIn. I Chose To Write About Marketing & Life Stuff On Hre Instead.
